June residencies in the Quartier des Artistes

In Nomine Ensemble - June 9 > 24, 2024

Founded in 2022, In Nomine is an early music ensemble made up of four young musicians who graduated from the Juilliard School in New York, some of whom Dans les Jardins de William Christie festival-goers have already heard in the Gardens. On the occasion of their residency at the Quartier des Artistes (Thiré, Vendée - Pays de la Loire), they will offer a presentation of their work to village residents on June 17, and will also share a series of "pop-up" concerts on their Instagram and YouTube accounts! > learn more 

Douglas Balliett - June 25 > July 15, 2024

Douglas Balliett needs no introduction. A Juilliard School alumnus turned teacher in the early music department, and a regular member of the Arts Florissants orchestra, this American bass player and composer is a regular guest at the Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie, where his compositions blending jazz and baroque sonorities have become an eagerly-awaited event. This residency will be an opportunity for him to come and prepare his new creation, before returning to Thiré for the 13th edition of the Festival, where he will give the world premiere of a sacred piece of his own composition.
