November 24 2015

On 4 December 2015, Les Arts Florissants under the direction of William Christie will present "Music at Versailles, a day with the Sun King", a concert bringing to life the music of the court of Louis XIV, at the Philharmonie de Paris. Additional events over the weekend will include a music lesson by William Christie and family singing and dance workshops led by Les Arts Florissants artists.

William Christie and Les Arts Florissants have created "Musique at Versailles, a day with the Sun King" in honour of the 300th anniversary of the death of Louis XIV. Conceived as a musical "walk" through the Palace of Versailles, with texts by Denys Podalydès of the Comédie Française and dance choreographed by Nicolas Paul of the Paris Opera, this theatrical concert will recreate the music and festivity of a typical day in Sun King's court.
