Surprise encore to celebrate Wiliam Christie' 70 years birthday
At the end of the opening concert of Les Arts Florissants at the Philharmonie de Paris, the artists of the Ensemble surprised William Christie.
William Christie, about to come back on stage for the salutes, discovers a birthday ‘encore’ Fortunata dies natalis - Joyeux anniversaire “Happy birthday”, a parody of Monteverdi and Charpentier composed by Christophe Gautier, member of Les Arts Florissants choir, and Paul Agnew, who conducts the choir and the orchestra.

On Monday, February 9, William Christie received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the oldest Dutch University, for his great merit in discovering “the essence of the French music”.
