Under the baton of William Christie and Paul Agnew, Les Arts Florissants pay particular attention to the texts, lyrics and words in their interpretations. It is not a suprise, then, if they have being put forward in the programmation of the 5th Festival.
Linked to William Christie's two passions: music and gardens, words have been great actors of the Festival with a story-teller and actors playing in the Promenades musicales and, for the first time, Erik Orsenna, a writer from the Academie française, and Henry-Claude Cousseau, heritage curator, with their literary visit of the gardens.
Gardens and Literature
"One of the highlights of 2016 Festival was a literary conversation with Henry-Claude Cousseau, heritage curator, and the writer Erik Orsenna, about Gardens and Literature." (Le Monde 01/08/2016, Lucien Jedwab)
Have being heard in the gardens of William Christie: Goethe, Saint-Simon, Montaigne or Vivant Denon...
